dumond spring/summer 09



dumond is an established brazilian accessories brand who wanted to launch in the uae with a cocktail event and fashion show.

client brief stated that the feel had to be brazilian, modern and very accessible. music had to have elements of south america, but mixed with contemporary electronic beats.

it was initially a challenge trying to incorporate accessible (read : mainstream) music, but we managed to strike a good balance.

the resulting mix is available for download here as 2 files (show choreography involved a break in music as the ‘finale’ model appeared on stage - hence the mix was broken into 2 distinct sections).

in march of this year, shelter opened it’s doors to the creative communities of dubai, and served as the off-shoot media lounge of art dubai 2009. in celebration of all the art in the city, this mix was filled with artists whose careers often blurred the lines between art and performance. artists included talking heads, kate bush, yeah yeah yeahs and more… shelter music / colour in your headphones (march 2009) cover art by jalal abuthina
